Arabi-Malayalam Bootcamp - 01
Theme: Disaster Ballads
This is a Bootcamp series in Arabi-Malayalam literature organized by the Malaibar Rare Book and Manuscript Library (MRBML), the archival segment of Malaibar Foundation, which will focus on select themes and texts in Arabi-Malayalam literature produced in various time periods. The first bootcamp in the series focuses on reading primary sources in the Arabi-Malayalam literature in Disaster Ballads produced in the Malabar region. Reading the primary sources, the bootcamp will discuss the overarching themes in these texts, the kind of language used, and the ways in which they were employed.
Aimed at beginners and intermediate researchers (both affiliated and independent), students and readers in Arabi-Malayalam literature, the bootcamp will focus on linguistics, philology, history and historicity of the select texts.
